Hogan Lovells, in conjunction with Equilar, published the Corporate Governance Outlook 2021.

As companies across Corporate America close out what has certainly been a disruptive year, they will also begin to prepare for 2021. Corporate Governance Outlook 2021 delves into the many governance topics that companies should prepare to address in 2021. The publication also provides insight into how companies must confront issues related to COVID-19 and social justice in the new year.

Key findings include:

  • There were 360 shareholder proposals across the Equilar 500 in 2020

  • 56% of Equilar 100 companies disclosed or mentioned ESG-related policies in 2020

  • 78.0% of Equilar 100 companies included board composition disclosures related to gender, while 65.0% did so in relation to ethnicity or race
