HL Tech and Tel: semiconductor policy

For the latest installment of our HL Tech and Tel Tuesday series our Tech and Telecoms Sector Group Lead, Mark Brennan, interviews two of our strategic lawyers – Tim Bergreen and Ryan Thompson – on the latest developments with the CHIPS Act and other semiconductor policy.

“The long effort to secure U.S. Government support for the semiconductor industry finally looks set to clear Congress,” said partner Timothy Bergreen in our latest HL Tech and Tel Tuesday episode.

Series host Mark Brennan connects with Tim and with J. Ryan Thompson from our Washington, D.C. office on why the CHIPS Act matters and other semiconductor policy developments.

“The bill creates a US$1.5bn public wireless supply chain innovation fund… that is intended to spur movement toward open-architecture, software-based technologies, and funding innovative leap-ahead technologies in the U.S. mobile broadband market,” notes Tim.
