Investment arbitration is relevant to the tech sector. In this short video, we look at what sort of states could take measures against tech investors and how tech investors can utilize the protections set out in investment treaties, even without actually bringing a claim. Investment treaties can operate as a means of getting governments to the negotiating table, and their applicability and use can operate to alter government policy.
