Upcoming Privacy and Cybersecurity events - September

Keep up to date on the latest Privacy and Cybersecurity trends by attending the events our lawyers are participating in this month. Notably, members of our global Privacy and Cybersecurity practice will be speaking during the ARMA International and Arizona Chapter's "California’s Consumer Privacy Rights Act (CPRA): What Arizona Data Processors Need to Know" event, an upcoming IAPP KnowledgeNet virtual panel, the DMA's "Responsible Marketing Update: Unmasking International Data Transfers" event, and an IAB UK webinar on the UK Data Protection & Digital Information Bill. 

They will discuss topics such as how the CPRA compares to the state comprehensive privacy laws taking effect in 2023 in Colorado, Utah, Connecticut, and Virginia, legal implications, tools and solutions, and compliance obligations regarding consent and preference management, key issues regarding international data transfers, and recent developments such as the UK Government's Data Protection and Digital Information Bill introduced to Parliament in July 2022, which includes changes to both the UK GDPR and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Sophie Baum will be speaking at the session "CPRA and the Fantastic (Other) Four" during the ARMA International and Arizona Chapter event "California’s Consumer Privacy Rights Act (CPRA): What Arizona Data Processors Need to Know" , where she will discuss effective dates of emerging privacy laws, scope of applicability, notice requirements, consumer rights, and enforcement.

Julian Flamant will join a virtual panel hosted by the Connecticut, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C. KnowledgeNet chapters of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) to discuss Consent and Preference Management.
