2022 has been a year which has seen significant developments in court-led corporate rescue and insolvency law reform in Hong Kong. In light of the lingering COVID-19 pandemic, it was all the more important that the Hong Kong courts rise to the challenge of enabling companies to address their financial difficulties within the flexible confines of the common law, all against the backdrop of Hong Kong lacking a corporate rescue regime as is common in most other developed countries around the world.

Hogan Lovells Restructuring & Special Situations team in APAC consists of an integrated and diverse team of finance, corporate, restructuring and litigation lawyers. We provide clients with bold and commercial solutions across the full range of finance, restructuring and special situation issues, including complex cross-border transactions involving debt rescheduling, refinancing and enforcement scenarios.

We are one of a small number of international law firms in China with approval from the Shanghai Bureau of Justice to form an association with a Chinese law firm in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. Established in 2016, Hogan Lovells Fidelity is our association with Fujian Fidelity Law Firm and gives us the ability to directly advise on contentious and non-contentious Chinese law matters, appear in court and issue formal legal opinions.
